Facilities offered by the school : We offer an academic, sporting, co-curricular and personal development programme that affords students every opportunity to grow in knowledge, self-confidence, skill and understanding. Each classroom houses a large area and is designed such that every student gets the teacher’s maximum individual attention.

There are 36 classrooms for regular teaching alone and a number of other rooms like the Audio-Visual rooms and Resource rooms to facilitate better learning. The strength of each class is kept at a manageable level and the comfortable furniture adds to the ambience of the classroom.

Computer Lab  
Through a programming oriented curriculum, students learn fundamental computer skills. Computer time is not used for games that teach other subjects. Students analyze, break down, and solve problems using a programming language, as well as learn typing, word processing skills, animation, and movie making. The students strengthen their thinking skills with programming

Science  Lab

 

The school is well equipped with Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs, which adhere to the National Curriculum Framework. Apart from this, our labs are equipped with the advanced experimental techniques used by the senior secondary students for their projects.

Bio-Technology Lab

 

Our well equipped and ventilated Bio-Technology Lab fascinate the students to carry out their experiments in more methodical way.

A lot of care and attention has been put into the designing of these labs taking into consideration a conducive working atmosphere, maximizing available instruction Technology and maintaining high standard of safety.

Maths  Lab

 

Mathematics Lab provides fast and easy access to a vast amount of information in a variety of formats - audio visual, text, animation and still motion pictures.

Library  

The school has a well equipped and a comprehensive library, which offers students with all the reference material, they require for an in-depth understanding of their specific subjects. The library also subscribes for journals on the relevant subjects.

Information and Communication Technology  (ICT)

Difficult diagrams, maps and illustrations are readily available,  which makes teaching easy and effective. Multimedia enabled Syllabus Specific Course Content, an application to manage an open repository of multimedia learning objects. Preloaded with thousands of learning elements such as animations, diagrams, simulations, videos, 3D interactive worksheets, audio/visual lesson plans, teaching guidelines, Q&A etc.

ThinkQuest
ThinkQuest is an online learning platform that helps students develop important 21st Century Skills, including communication, critical thinking and technology skills. Delivered to K-12 schools globally, ThinkQuest includes a project environment that supports collaborative learning; technology competitions that challenge students to solve real world problems; the award-winning ThinkQuest Library, a learning resource visited by millions, and professional development for educators. The ThinkQuest International Competition challentes students to solve a real-wordl problem by applying their critical thinking, communication and technology skills. Participants may enroll in the following events : ThinkQuest Projects, digital Media, and Application Development.

Audio-Visual Room

In today’s world, computer is an integral part of life. Society places high importance on Information Technology. The promotion of Audio Visual Teaching at school level is an excellent effort. This will open the way for an all-round development of the students. Audio Visual learning helps to reinforce concepts learnt and provide joyful learning experience.

Music & Dance

Dance plays a vital role in one’s life. It not only rejuvenates the body but also out mind and soul. Keeping this fact in mind. The Oxford Senior Secondary School puts a lot of emphasis on such kind of Co-Curricular activities which helps the students not only to excel in academics but leads to overall personality development. Here, the students are taught different styles of dance such as Contemporary, free style, folk dance, western etc.

To nourish the hidden talent of the student, the school has also introduced cultural club (Dance) where in they are free to exhibit their talents and bring laurels to the school.

Assembly Program

 

We offer the highest quality, most entertaining, and aove- all, educational programs for the School Assembly. Our school Assembly program and cultural enrichment program are unique, educational and entertaining. We take the worry and hassle out of bringing the best School Assembly program. We have Assembly program categorized House wise and also Class wise.

Yoga  

Education is not the amount of Information that is put into the brain but the holistic learning of skills and sports are included. Yoga Classes are conducted for students of Class I to Class XII.

There are many types of physical exercise, but the Yogic system of asanas is the most complete benefitting far more than just the physical body. The asanas emphasize deep breathing, relaxed movements, and mental concentration.

Yoga is a way of life, an integrated system of education for the body, mind and inner spirit. Yoga is a practical aid, not a religion, and its techniques may be practiced by Buddhists, Jews, Christians, Muslims, and Hindus. Yoga is union with all.

Scouts and Guides

 
Our Students have participated in :
  • District Camporee held at Davanagere – 2nd January 2009 to 7th January 2009.
  • National Mini Jamboree - Centenary of Scouting held at Ahmedabad, Gujarath  (February 1st to February 7th 2009.)
  • Regional Level Rashtrapati Testing Camp was held at Regional Training Centre – Navathura, Calicut, Kerala. (13th September to 17th September 2009).
  • District Level Trithiya Sopan Testing camp conducted in  Dodballapur 18th June to 24th June 2009.
  • Attended Rajya Puraskar Award Testing camp  at Dodballapur
  • The Oxford Scout Troop took part in the Republic day celebrations on 26th January 2009 at Maniksha Parade Ground.
  • Our Students took part in World Environment Day organized by the Bharat Scouts and Guides –June 2010 headed by Mayor Mr. Nataraj and Cricket player Mr.Anil Kumble
  • Two guides of Class X – attended Rashtrapati Testing Camp ( 12th October to 16th October 2009)
  • Oxford Cubs and Bulbuls were awarded State Level  Heerak Pankh  Chaturtha Charan Award.
  • Scout Master and Guide Captain from National Head Quarters U.K. visited the Oxford School.
  • Our Scout Amogh K M  of Class XII received Rasthrapati Award at Rastrapati Bhavan New Delhi on 14th July 2010.
  • G.V.Dharma Teja , D.Supriya, D. Pooja Das, Akshatha B of Class X received Rashtrapathi Award - 2009-2010.
  • Four Guides received Rajyapuraskar award on 1st June 2008 from our Honorable Governor of Karnataka Rameshwar Thakur.
  • We are proud to inform that 20 students has been qualified for Rashtrapati Award.
  • Students were accompanied by Scout Master Riyaz Pasha and Guide Captain Jancy Rani.

NCC 2009- 2010

  • 1998 – Oxfordite – selected as a Senior Sarjant.
  • 1998 – Our girls won honours at the trekking camp held at Goa.
  • 2003 – Our Scouts excelled in firing.
  • 2010- Girl Cadets brought laurels to our Institution in Cultural Activities.

Our Nursery School is a School with in a School with a wonderful warm and friendly atmosphere where they feel safe, happy and learn to enjoy education through play. Research shows that children learn more rapidly in the first seven years of life than at any other time. It is therefore important that children are given the opportunity to fulfill their potential. As a parent you play a very important role. We in Nursery hope to play our part by offering your child a variety of experience and activities designed to further their individual development such as : - colouring, painting, jigsaw puzzles, drawing, role play, stories and to spend together time, we also encourage craft, board games, listening and musical activities.

Physical activities like indoor and outdoor games are also considered.

Our Aim is to :

  2. Encourage emotional, personal , social, physical creative and intellectual development.
  3. Encourage positive attitude towards self and others.
  4. Provide interest to stimulate imagination.
